New Zealand Take Home Pay Calculator 2026-27
Your tax code is on your payslip or your IR330 tax code declaration. M is your main job and uses the standard PAYE scale. The secondary codes (SB, S, SH, ST, SA) are for a second job, and each withholds a flat rate on that job's pay plus the ACC levy, picked by your total income from all sources. CAE, EDW, NSW and ND are flat rates too. With any flat code the figures show tax withheld, not your final tax. Your year end assessment (an IR3 return or an automatic assessment) sets the final tax. WT and STC are not supported. See how tax codes work.
Your KiwiSaver contribution comes out of your pay after PAYE, so it does not lower your income tax. The default rate is 3.5% from you, and your employer adds at least 3.5% on top, before employer tax.
